Getting "Funky" in Victoria!

In March, I had the amazing opportunity to go to Victoria, British Columbia and work with Christina Craft from Funky Town Photography http://www.funkytownphotography.com/ as well as 11 other photographers from Ontario, British Columbia and the U.S. in a very intense wedding 3 day wedding workshop working on lighting, posing and directing, off camera flash, and workflow - just some of the many topics we covered!

After playing a fun get to know each other game, we got right to work! Christina is very knowledgeable, warm and friendly, and very willing to share what she knows and what has worked for her in her business. Christina brought in some local photographers to work with us and they were all great!  Like Christina, they were all very helpful, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable!

Our mornings consisted of classroom instruction and then in the afternoon we had the opportunity to work with models as well as real life bride and grooms who were gracious enough to don their wedding attire again for us!

Our last day we discussed planning and anatomy of a wedding day, portfolio, marketing, site scouting, post production and a lot more!  After a critique (what a great opportunity to see fellow photographer’s work!) it was time to say goodbye.

I left on a high knowing that Christina’s workshop opened my eyes to seeing things differently and to becoming a better photographer!

A big (huge, enormous, there aren’t enough words!) thank you to Christina and all the photographers both participants and assistants who helped make this workshop so AMAZING!!!

Below are some of my faves!!!

Dana had such a great smile and laugh!!!  It allowed for some great candids of her!
