Elephant Sanctuary - Chiang Mai, Thailand

A few photos of some of the amazing, gentle and loving elephants that we met during our one week volunteer experience at Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

She's just thrown some mud on her head... elephants do this to protect their sensitive skin from sunburn!

Mae Jan Peng... Her mahout (trainer), believes she is the most beautiful elephant at the sanctuary.  He places a fresh flower in her ear every day.

Baby Navaan - just 2 1/2 months old!!!
