Galapagos Islands - Espanola Island

Matt and I went on a trip of a lifetime to the Galapagos Islands this past May!!!  Amazing doesn't even begin to describe our experience and our time there.

We visited a few different islands but Espanola was definitely our favourite.  Espanola is the only island in the Galapagos where you will find the waved albatross.  We not only saw these beautiful birds but also witnessed them courting!! I was in awe.  It is quite an involved dance- bowing, clacking of beaks, squawking.  Quite a sight!

We also saw the blue footed booby doing their infamous mating dance.  AMAZING!!!  You are so close to them (and all the animals) and yet they are completely oblivious to you.

Here are some of the amazing animals from Espanola Island!

Otavalo Market Quito, Ecuador

Matt and I spent a few days in Quito, Ecuador this past May.  Ecuador is one of the most ecologically diverse countries in the world. On Saturday, we went to Otavalo Market.  We enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the market and seeing the local handicrafts.  We even bought a few things (including a shrunken head!!)  Along the way, we stopped to visit with a family and met a couple llamas who were gracious enough to allow me to take their picture! Check out some of my pics below!
